We're in need of a variety of staff! We currently have 5 positions available, but we will likely hire more that one person per position.

Writer
Combine journalistic reporting and creative writing to entice users with the colorful descriptions, accuracy and details of what you are covering. Please be prepared to write at least one or two articles weekly.
Requirements Provide writing samples & clips

Shoutcaster
We're always on the lookout for talented shoutcasters, and with the amount of coverage we hope to take on, we are looking for one play-by-play and one color commentary shoutcaster.

Notes for Shoutcasters
  • We are putting together a second NA shoutcasting team.
  • We're looking for someone w/ video casting capabilities in the EU. Once we get this, we'll look to establish an EU shoutcasting team.
  • If you want to shoutcast w/ our NA team, you should join as staff and we'll get you to come in for pre-game, mid-match, and post-game analysis. Eventually you can work your way to a co-host.

Moderation & Updates
This position is in charge of ensuring the site is running smoothly and is presented professionally, with special attention to Twitter feed & IRC topic updates. You'll also assist with forum, user comments and the demo box moderation to make sure site content remains relevant and professional.
Requirements You must be on daily to moderate and update the site.

Promotion & Marketing
If you have a wide network of friends and colleagues within the Quake competitive community and would like to help us promote our events, this is the spot for you. You'll help us expand our visitors to as many people as possible. Use word-of-mouth, Xfire, Twitter, Facebook, Instant Messaging, forum posts, blogs or other methods of networking.
Requirements You must be able to effectively reach a new audience, and present us with ideas to expand our audience

Quake 3 / Live Competitive Expert
Lend Quake competitive experience by helping our shoutcasters and writers develop quality analysis and ensure QLTV is at the top of its game. You'll also be asked to contribute occasionally to shoutcasts & article writing.
Requirements Extensive Quake 3 / Live knowledge & clear communications

QuakeCon Camera Man
You'll be the guy (or girl) behind the scenes handling the video camera for QLTV at QuakeCon 2010. Main focus will be covering team interviews, shoutcaster and QLTV booth footage, a BYOC walkthrough, our vendor area interviews and full coverage of the keynote and main stage events. Must be comfortable with video cameras, have experience with lighting, etc. Digital video and game knowledge a plus.

If you're interested, please get in touch with us today! You can:
* Send an e-mail to contact@quakelive.tv (preferred)
* Reply to this thread
* PM via forums
* Submit info via IRC at #ql.tv

Thanks for your time!

Greased Scottsman's voice is very enjoyable to listen to on the QL match replays and he's pretty funny as well.
No offense but DJWheat's voice is a bit annoying and I end up skipping ahead sometimes when he's talking a lot. =\
If you're looking for more casters, please keep voice appeal in mind.

Hey guys, I've been out of commission for a while as far as gaming and QLTV goes. Family and work keeps me pretty busy. So I'm sorry I haven't communicated with you until now.

Anyhow, you guys may remember me from QuakeCon2009. I came with Newbi and went by Kakarrot. I also helped stlava with the Nvidia tournament that included several instagib CTF matches. I've spoken with Newbi a few times about assisting you guys again at QuakeCon2010 with various server, workstation, and network setup. However, I thought I'd need to speak with you guys about it before I make any plans.

So if you guys could use me again this year, here are some things I'm capable of and some things that I'd enjoy helping with if given the chance (I may add to this list if I think of something else). So please let me know where I can be used. Thanks guys!

-Abilities-
Network Admin
Windows Desktop/Server Admin
Linux Server Admin
Excellent Troubleshooting Skills
Basic Website Management

Ability to see the bigger picture in reference to taking initiative and delegating
Playing Quake
Getting food & Bawls for the QLTV team

No..... I admit I did play some CS a few times. It was QuakeCon after all, so it shouldn't be held against me that I played a few matches while I was there. I'm sure you'll understand.

I did go on food runs for the team and help organize the Nvidia tournament that was co-hosted by Nvidia and QLTV. I also helped initiate getting the Doom matches shoutcasted. If you guys can put me to use, I'll be glad to join you again at this year's QuakeCon2010. Thanks again!

So I see no posts have been here for a while. I'll change that!

Well, for starters, I'm Josh (my alias being whally). I live in the Golden State of California and have been playing Q3 ever since 2002. I recently got into Quake Live, and to be honest, I don't find it as much fun, but it's definitely more competitive and active, so I can't really complain.

Anywho, more about myself is that I'm 19, I love almost all genres of music and literature, and someday I do plan on becoming either a poet or a music producer. I guess the kind of job or title I'm looking for here is a writer or producer. I'm fine with whatever you guys need me to be, but I'm very knowledgeable about Quake, almost all aspects of it, and I enjoy the game in its entirety.

You can catch me on your IRC as whally or shoot me an email at caboose.blues@gmail.com

Thanks for your time :)

Just a heads up that we are knee deep in QuakeCon preparations so we may not be able to get back to everyone regarding staff applications in a timely manner.

Hey Quake-Live.tv. It's Billy here (blackwellb@live.com). Not trying to bother you guys but just here to keep throwing my name into the hat.

If you don't remember me, I'm looking for just about any position, part time or full time, that you may find is relevant to what you're looking for. I can be a video editor / camera guy (I do video editing for www.simplyshredded.com). I record, edit, and render videos related to bodybuilding there. You can see the style of videos I put out here: http://vimeo.com/13537929. I could be a forum moderator, writer, possible shout caster in the future or just about anything.

I have a pretty good knowledge about computers so just about any job that you need done that I can do, I'm up for. As far as writing and shoutcasting goes, I'm still in the general Quake learning process so that might be something that I could do in the future.

If this has any relevance, I have minimal knowledge of web production and certain aspects that intertwine with it. I own my own bodybuilding website which can be accessed here: http://www.musclelegion.com.
